Broadcast

Radio Services

Minnesota Public Radio produces three live broadcast services for the region: MPR News, Classical MPR, and The Current. Each has its own distinctive sound and content composed of locally produced programming, national shows, and music recordings.

Stations

Minnesota Public Radio broadcasts on 45 stations that serve Minnesota and its neighboring communities, with 39 local translators providing additional coverage for the region. Most areas are served by both a classical music station and a news and information station. One location is covered by a single station that combines both services.

HD Radio

Many of MPR’s station provide HD service alongside the regular FM channels. The HD channels carry services not otherwise available. Learn more about HD service.

Digital

MPR’s digital offerings range from streams of its three radio services to program archives, podcasts and text services including weather alerts and RSS feeds.

Mobile Apps

MPR’s apps serve its streams as well as MPR News content on Apple and Android devices. More about apps.

Streams

MPR’s three main services and additional streaming channels are available on the web site, on MPR apps, and via a variety of streaming services such as TuneIn and iHeartRadio. More about streaming.

Smart Speakers

If you have a smart speaker, (an Amazon Echo or a Google home device) it’s easy to find our regional services with simple prompts. (Just remember to to enunciate your M P R! )

Classical MPR: “Tell your smart speaker to play Classical M P R”. This works for both Alexa and Google. (Note “Classical Minnesota Public Radio” doesn’t work)

MPR News: “Tell your smart speaker to play M P R News”. This works for both Alexa and Google.

The Current: “Tell your smart speaker to play The Current”. This works for both Alexa and Google.
