Minnesota Public Radio Announces 2016 State Fair Live Broadcasts and Performances

Minnesota Public Radio today announced its 2016 State Fair booth activities and MPR Day lineup.
MPR State Fair programming highlights:
Chris Thile, new host of A Prairie Home Companion, makes his inaugural visit to the Great Minnesota Get-Together on Friday, Aug. 26. He'll be the featured guest on the MPR News live broadcast of "Almanac," which will air on Twin Cities Public Television later that evening. Check tpt.org/almanac for details. Then, during the 4 p.m. hour, Thile joins The Current's live broadcast with Mark Wheat.
Friday, Sept. 2 is MPR Day at the Fair. Grab something on a stick and a cold beverage and enjoy a variety of events at the Carousel Park Stage, including an MPR News live broadcast with Tom Weber featuring two quiz shows: a weather quiz show with state climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley as well as a special quiz show with Garrison Keillor.That evening, MPR Day wraps up with Garrison Keillor's "The Minnesota Show." The Current can be heard on KCMP 89.3 FM in the Twin Cities, KMSE 88.7 FM in Rochester, WSCN(HD2) 90.9 FM in Duluth, KCMP 103.9 FM in Austin, KGRP 107.3 FM in Grand Rapids, KCMP 97.5 FM in Hinckley, KCMP 95.3 FM and 105.1 FM in Mankato, and 93.5 FM in Saint Peter.
